In their 3 June meeting, G20 agriculture ministers acknowledged the heavy impact of extreme food price volatility on global food security and even global stability. Against this background, ministers renewed their commitment to fight extreme food price volatility and support the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS) as part of the 2011 Action Plan on Food Price Volatility and Agriculture. Indeed, several ministers praised AMIS for providing an effective platform for information exchange and an example of successful inter-agency collaboration.
