15th session of the Global Food Market Information Group

The 15th session of the Global Food Market Information Group was held at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current situation and outlook of global wheat, maize, rice and soybean markets. Other topics that were discussed focused on the market impact of the recent outbreak of African Swine Fever in East Asia; new methodologies to estimate feed utilization; and a historical perspective on the long-term implications of trade disputes in the agriculture sector.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Marcelo Fernandes Guimarães of Brazil started his one-year term as AMIS Chair, after having been elected at the 8th session of the AMIS Rapid Response Forum earlier this year.
