5th session of the Rapid Response Forum
At the invitation of the United States Department of Agriculture the fifth session of the AMIS Rapid Response Forum was organized at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington, DC.
The meeting reviewed progress of AMIS in 2015, discussed the programme of work for the next two years, and evaluated the status of country collaboration as regards the submission of commodity balances.
Special attention was given to ongoing activities to develop forward-looking market indicators as well as improved measures of stock positions. As regards the latter, country representatives considered the outcomes of the July 2015 expert workshop on "Stock and Utilization Measurement in China".
Participants of the meeting elected Germany to become the next Chair of AMIS. Germany will take over this position from the United States at the forthcoming meeting of the Global Food Market Information Group in June 2016.
