The fourth session of the Global Food Market Information Group was held over two days.

• 1 October: The first day of the meeting concentrated on the work carried out by the Secretariat in establishing supply and demand balances for AMIS crops which are now published in the AMIS Market Monitor The meeting heard from GEOGLAM regarding their contribution to the monthly publication and also looked at the futures markets of agricultural commodities.
• 2 October: The meeting was addressed by guest speakers representing regional information systems and discussed research undertaken by participating countries and organizations. The afternoon was devoted to a workshop on the AMIS statistical database and bi-lateral discussions between participating countries and the AMIS Secretariat.
